“Shout for joy to the Lord all the Earth! Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs!” (Psalm 100:1-2) These verses have been on my heart lately. To be reminded of them every day, I decided to create a three-part canvas with them on it!
First, I had to pick out the colors. I love blue, green, & pink, and they go so nicely together. Therefore, I went with the obvious answer. 🙂 Now onto the painting! First, I painted canvas #1 completely pink.
In order to create a “frame” of black paint, I used strips of painter’s tape (courtesy of Justin Chance), and painted the sides. Then I just peeled the tape off, and whalla! A perfect frame.
Next, using a paint pen, I added a sea of blue pockadots on the frame. Mixing up the colors, I then simply repeated the process with the other two canvases.
Here is the finished product:
(I used the paint pen to paint the letters)
These hang right above my desk, so anytime I look up, I’m always reminded of these truths. 🙂
It’s that time of year again! Fall. *Sign* The leaves are fiery reds and bright yellows, the air is crisp, scarves and hats are breaking out, and Thanksgiving is fast approaching. That also means that Halloween is here! To celebrate, I made these deliciously easy witch’s hats.
First, put a small drop of icing (about a tsp) in the center of a Keelbler’s cookie (I used red, but you could use just about any color). Then drop a Hersey’s Kiss right on top. That’s it! You’re done. I told you they’re easy.
Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better person to live with for the next four years! I’m blessed beyond belief. To show my appreciation, I decided to make a poster board of encouragement.
First, I found a list of encouraging sayings via Pinterest (love that place!).
Then I searched for pictures, items, etc. that correlated to that particular saying based on my roommate’s likes. For example, she loves coffee. So I combined the quote “Sunsets (and coffee) to warm your heart” with a gift card to Sweet Bay.
Here is the end product:
Of course, you modify the items, pics, even sayings, based on the person you are giving this to.
So, I’m super pumped, because this is my first blog post ever! In honor of this special occasion, I decided to combine three of my favorite foods into one heavenly dessert: Pumpkin Peanut-Butter Reese’s. Delicate, delightful, melt-in-your-mouth amazingness. Hungry yet? I know I am.
First, combine ¼-cup cocoa powder, ¼-cup coconut oil, 2 tbsp. Agave syrup (or honey), & 2 packets stevia (You can also just melt ¾-cup chocolate for time’s sake). Mix together.
Fill just the bottom of mini cupcake liners. Freeze for about 5 minutes.
In the meantime, combine 2 tbsp. peanut butter, 3 tbsp. canned pumpkin puree, & ½-teaspoon cinnamon. Mix together until it forms a thick paste.
Once the chocolate has frozen, take paste and fill the center of the liners. Take remaining chocolate sauce and pour over paste, topping it off. Return to freezer for approximately 10 minutes.
Walla!!! You now possess decadent Pumpkin Peanut-Butter Reese’s that not only taste great, but are also incredibly healthy!
